EARLY
HEAD START
Helping Parents Help Their Children
Early Head Start is a federally funded program serving infants and toddlers, from birth through age three. Community Action’s Early Head Start center provides full-time services with individualized programming to maximize children’s development, while also offering high quality childcare for working parents.
The Early Head Start Center has seven classrooms located at 135 Stepney’s Lane in Edgewater, where the Agency serves South Anne Arundel County families. The staff provides hands-on education for each child, with a teacher-to-child ratio of 3:1 for infants and 4:1 for toddlers.
Early Head Start parents also benefit from the Agency’s 2-Generation Approach. Parents receive case management and coaching services, have access to all Agency programs, health and nutrition workshops, ESL classes, access to tutors for GED classes, and can serve on the program’s Policy Council.
The program is no-cost to qualifying families. For more information, please call 443-822-0536.
